Are all the things herbal that I buy, grow and collect from the garden, or wander on the land and wildcraft that get added to the soap for the beneficial effects to the skin.

Oatmeal, Cornmeal, Flax Seeds, Juniper Berries 

Are added to the soap for texture. They are used for their properties as exfoliants, which are materials with irregular textures used to release debris which collects on the skin surface, thereby increasing the soaps cleansing qualities. They remove dirt and dead skin cells, while stimulation the healthier cells beneath. Flax in particular protects irritated and inflamed tissues, smooths and softens skin and aids in the healing of cuts and wounds.

Chamomile

Is soothing, calming and anti-inflammatory, can be used on boils, abscesses, infected cuts, splinters, etc. It is also a disinfectant, good is massage for muscular pain and inflamed joints such as in arthritis and for all dry, flaky and itchy skin conditions.

Myrrh

Is used to hold the scents of soap. It has disinfectant properties which make myrrh also suitable as a wash for sores and wounds. Its effect on the nervous system is a gently calming one, able to instill deep tranquility of the mind.

Elderberry Flowers & Leaves

Are known to be good for the skin. Elder is a veritable medicine chest. It softens, smooths and protects the skin and aids in healing cuts and wounds.

Turmeric, Paprika, Elderberries, Rose Hip Powder & Chlorophyll Comfrey 

Are all used as natural colourants. Providing colour but also have a very extensive history of uses in traditional medicine, especially for fractures, sprains, etc. Comfrey oil contains allantoin, which aids healing and is often helpful for itchy, rough skin and dry eczema.
